Shelley Point Hotel gets the Business Rescue treatment
It comes as no surprise that the hospitality industry has suffered from the great World Cup hangover, resulting in a few casualties in the restaurant and hotel arena. One such hotel has been fortunate enough to escape liquidation thanks to the business rescue process. Unbeknown to many, Shelley Point Hotel, Spa and Country Club on the Cape West Coast has been under business rescue since July last year.
Hotel Verde receives World Responsible Tourism Award
They’ve done it again – Hotel Verde, Africa’s greenest hotel, by BON Hotels, received the international World Responsible Tourism Award for Best City Hotel at World Travel Market UK on 5 November 2014. Nominated by Cape Town Tourism in recognition of preservation of, respect for and benefit to the City of Cape Town and its local community. “We are grateful and humbled that the international community has recognized our efforts.

Building on from the success of Hotel Verde, Africa’s greenest hotel, and following their recent international LEED® platinum green building certification from the US Green Building Council for new construction, Mario Delicio, owner of and the brains behind this sustainable venture, is challenging other like-minded people to follow suit, and with the launch of Verde Invest, is optimistic to have built another entirely green hotel by the end of 2015.
